the
history of internet
Yahoo!
The first of the first!
The well
known Yahoo, started as a hobby of two students that were making
their master in the university of Stanford. David
Filo and Jerry Yang, candidate doctors of electrical engineering,
started the web site “Jerry and David’s Guide to
the World Wide Web”, as a record of their personal interest
in internet. The list was getting bigger day after day and the
categories became subcategories and these subcategories other
subcategories. Very soon, the time that they were offering to
the list with their favorite links, was more than the one they
offered in their master.
The fame of the list was expanding and became popular in the
campus firstly, and later in the world of internet. When the
site celebrated the 1000000 hits, came the time of the investors.
They gave an initial capital of 2 millions dollars and helped
in the creation of Yahoo, which learned to the world what is
the meaning of the portal. Now it is in the first rank in the
world concerning the visitors, from that time until today.

We
support the idea of the internet being free for everyone
and at high speed. The cost can thus be covered by the
countries and companies active within its trading sector. |
